What makes this consultation different
Most orthodontic consultations are 20-minute appointments designed to convert you into treatment. Ours are designed to evaluate your case the way an orthodontist would evaluate it for someone in their own family. That means a full clinical exam, 3D imaging when warranted, and an honest conversation about what your case actually needs — even when the answer is "you don't need treatment right now" or "you should see a different specialist first."
Specifically, every consultation includes:
- A full clinical examination by the Andros Orthodontics clinical team, with every case personally reviewed by Dr. Andros
- CBCT 3D imaging when clinically indicated, which lets us evaluate the jaw, palate, airway, and tooth roots in three dimensions rather than just the flat view of traditional X-rays
- An airway-focused screening covering tongue posture, palatal width, breathing pattern, and signs of sleep-disordered breathing — relevant for many adult and pediatric cases
- A discussion of your goals — what you actually want from treatment, whether that's aesthetics, function, comfort, or a combination
- A complete plan for every visit ahead, presented to you by Dr. Andros or his treatment coordinator — you'll leave knowing how many visits your treatment involves, when each one is scheduled, and what happens at each one, so you know the end from the beginning
- A financial discussion covering insurance benefits, financing options, and total cost — after the clinical decision, not before
Why the consultation is free
Choosing an orthodontist is a multi-year relationship. The work itself often takes 18-24 months, and the result is something you live with for decades. We don't want a fee to be the reason you don't get a second opinion, evaluate your child's airway concerns, or finally find out whether the bite issue you've ignored for ten years actually needs treatment.
So we don't charge for the first visit. Not for the consultation, not for the imaging, not for the treatment plan. You leave with a clear understanding of what your case needs and what it would cost — and you decide what to do with that information, on your own timeline. There is no pressure to commit at the consultation, no aggressive follow-up calls, and no penalty for choosing a different orthodontist.
How to book your consultation
Online booking is the fastest way to schedule. Most patients book in under two minutes:
- Click the booking button below
- Choose "New patient" (or "Returning patient" if you've been seen before)
- Select "New Patient Consultation"
- Pick the time that works for you from Dr. Andros' available slots
- Enter your name, date of birth, contact info, and any comments about what you'd like to discuss
You'll receive a confirmation email and text immediately, along with a reminder before your appointment. If something comes up, you can reschedule directly from the confirmation email — again, no phone call needed.

Before your consultation — paperwork and insurance verification
After you book, you'll receive an invitation from OrthoFi, the secure patient platform we use for new patient onboarding. From your phone or computer, you can set up your account, fill out your medical and orthodontic history, and authorize an insurance verification — all before you set foot in the office. The whole thing takes about 10-15 minutes at a time that works for you.
The point of doing this ahead of time is simple: when you show up for your consultation, we already know what your orthodontic benefits look like — coverage amount, lifetime maximum, age limits, percentage covered, whether you're in-network. That means the financial conversation at your consultation is specific to your plan, not a generic estimate. It also means you spend your time with the clinical team on clinical things, not on a clipboard at the front desk.
What to bring
- Your dental insurance card if you have one. If you completed the OrthoFi paperwork ahead of time, this is just a backup — we should already have your coverage information verified.
- Any prior orthodontic records or imaging if available — but don't worry if you don't have them. We can take new imaging at the consultation.
- A list of any medications you take — particularly anything that affects bleeding, bone density, or healing.
- If the consultation is for a minor, a parent or legal guardian must attend.

What happens after the consultation
You leave with your full plan in hand — every visit mapped out, when it happens, and what we'll do at each one. You know the end from the beginning. You'll also have the financial summary, answers to your questions, and time to think it over. Most patients take a few days to a few weeks to decide. When you're ready, your second visit is the appointment where treatment actually begins — placing braces, fitting aligners, or starting whatever the plan calls for.
If your case involves coordination with another specialist — for example, a sleep medicine evaluation, an ENT consult, or myofunctional therapy — we'll outline that sequence and make the referral introductions as appropriate.
