Treatment at Andros Orthodontics

Every treatment plan starts with two questions: will this smile look great in five years, and will this smile breathe well for fifty? Most of the time the answer leads to a plan that looks like standard orthodontics. Sometimes it leads somewhere different. The treatments below are the tools we use to get there.

Airway-Focused Orthodontics

For children and adults whose orthodontic concerns are entangled with how they breathe and sleep. Dr. Andros has completed eight years of continuing education in airway-focused orthodontics, training under leaders at Stanford and The Breathe Institute. Evaluation looks at how jaw position, palate width, tongue posture, and breathing pattern interact — not just how the teeth line up. Treatment is coordinated with sleep medicine, ENT, and myofunctional therapy when appropriate.

Digital Orthodontics

Every case at Andros Orthodontics is planned virtually from CBCT 3D scans, with brackets placed using a 3D-printed indirect bonding tray for sub-millimeter precision. The result is more predictable treatment timelines, fewer mid-course corrections, and lower risk of root collisions — included in every case at no additional cost. The first — and currently the only — Tri-Cities practice offering this fully digital workflow.

MARPE & Palatal Expansion

Skeletal palatal expansion for adolescents and adults using mini-implant anchorage. MARPE (Mini-Implant Assisted Rapid Palatal Expansion) and our preferred slower variant MASPE actually widen the upper jaw at the bone level — not just tip the teeth outward. Used to address transverse skeletal deficiency, create space for crowded teeth, and increase nasal cavity volume in selected cases. CBCT-based diagnosis and case selection.

Invisalign & Clear Aligners

Clear, removable aligners for patients who want orthodontic treatment without brackets and wires. Excellent for adults and older adolescents whose work is primarily tooth movement. Every Invisalign case at Andros Orthodontics is planned with the same CBCT-based digital workflow as every braces case. We also offer Invisalign Teen and Invisalign First (for Phase I treatment in kids).

Braces — Damon Ultima System

Andros Orthodontics uses Damon Ultima brackets for every braces case — the newest generation of the Damon system. Variable torque across the arch, full slot engagement early in treatment, and self-ligating door mechanics for less friction and more comfortable treatment. Most practices offer Damon Ultima as a paid upgrade. We use it as our standard system. Clear ceramic options available.

Children's Orthodontics

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a first orthodontic screening by age 7. At Andros Orthodontics, the approach is case-by-case: most children evaluated early don't need any treatment yet, but for the ones who do benefit from early (Phase I) treatment, identifying them at the right age often makes the difference between a simple later case and a complex one. Includes coordinated airway evaluation for kids with chronic mouth breathing, snoring, or restless sleep.

Adult Orthodontics

Adults of every age — including patients in their 60s and 70s — make up a significant share of our practice. Reasons range from longstanding dissatisfaction with their smile, to TMJ symptoms, to airway concerns, to teeth that shifted after an earlier round of treatment, to coordination with restorative dental work. Treatment uses the same tools available to teens (braces, Invisalign, MARPE), adapted for the realities of adult dentition.

TMJ & TMD

Jaw joint dysfunction is one of the most over-treated and under-diagnosed conditions in dentistry. Our approach: identify what's actually driving the case — bite imbalance, skeletal jaw position, airway-driven nighttime clenching, muscle hypertonicity, or joint pathology — and match treatment to the cause. TMJ care at Andros Orthodontics is rarely a single intervention.
