Orthodontics for Richland — your closest specialty option

Andros Orthodontics sits directly across the Columbia River from Richland, off the Road 100 exit. For most Richland neighborhoods, the drive is 5-10 minutes — often shorter than reaching orthodontic offices on the far end of Richland itself. Dr. Nicholas Andros grew up in Richland before establishing his practice in Pasco in 2014, and the practice has been designed from day one to serve the whole Tri-Cities.

Why Richland patients drive to Andros Orthodontics

Richland has more than one orthodontic option closer to home. The reasons Richland patients still choose to drive across the river to Andros Orthodontics tend to fall into a few categories:

Fully digital orthodontics with Damon Ultima brackets

Andros Orthodontics was the first practice in the Tri-Cities to commit to a fully digital orthodontic workflow, and currently remains the only one offering it for every patient. Every case is planned virtually from CBCT 3D scans. Brackets are placed using a 3D-printed indirect bonding tray for sub-millimeter precision. Damon Ultima brackets — the most current generation of the premium Damon self-ligating system — are the standard for every patient, not an upgrade tier. The combination of CBCT planning, indirect bonding precision, and Damon Ultima mechanics produces more predictable treatment times, fewer mid-course adjustments, and shorter total treatment than traditional methods. Airway-focused orthodontics

Dr. Nicholas Andros has spent eight consecutive years (2018-2026) in continuing education focused specifically on the connection between jaw development, palate width, tongue posture, and breathing. He has trained directly under Dr. Rebecca Bockow (Seattle, perio-ortho), Dr. Audrey Yoon (Stanford-affiliated orthodontist), Dr. Stanley Liu (Stanford-affiliated oral surgeon), Dr. Soroush Zaghi (The Breathe Institute, tongue-tie specialist), Dr. Sharon Keenan (sleep medicine), and Sarah Hornsby (myofunctional therapy). For Richland families whose children show signs of mouth breathing, restless sleep, or chronic congestion, and for Richland adults with TMJ, sleep apnea, or symptoms that haven't been resolved by other care, this perspective often changes the treatment plan entirely. MARPE & MASPE skeletal palatal expansion

Skeletal palatal expansion using mini-implant anchorage (MARPE / MASPE) is a specialty offering. It's the modern, non-surgical way to actually widen the upper jaw in adolescents and adults — not just tip the teeth outward. Dr. Andros has trained directly with Dr. Won Moon (UCLA) — the originator of MSE, the technique that became MARPE — in small-group continuing-education courses, and has additionally been formally trained in MARPE through the OrthoPreneurs RD Study Group. For Tri-Cities patients who have been told they need jaw surgery, maxillofacial expansion, or extractions for crowding, the MARPE/MASPE evaluation is often worth the trip across the river. Owner-operated by someone who grew up here

Dr. Andros grew up in Richland before establishing Andros Orthodontics in Pasco in 2014. He's one of six siblings — all of whom came back to raise families of their own in the Tri-Cities. Many of the practice's patients are people he's known for years: classmates, neighbors, families he's seen across decades. The practice has been at the same west Pasco location since opening, with Dr. Andros as both owner and treating orthodontist the entire time. Dr. Andros is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics (DDS from Columbia University; orthodontic residency at Jacksonville University).
